Summary

Here I present a brief summary of this page. Those who wish to know more can read the rest of the page, as well as other pages on many weight, health and fitness topics in this website.

This is not just some abstract theory of how things should work. If you want to succeed in your quest for losing excess weight, and keeping it off, imitate those who have already succeeded in both. What I present here is a program that has already worked for me and for our customers.

Like many of you, I had put on quite a few pounds of excess weight. By following the plan presented here, I have taken off all that excess weight, and now weigh the same as I did when I was in my twenties. Not only that, but I have maintained that ideal weight for years.

The truth is, in many respects, the deck is stacked against Americans with a weight problem. In later pages in this website, we point out these pitfalls, and tell you how to avoid them.

There are no “forbidden” foods on this plan. We are here to help, but you are in charge.

There is no room in our program for feelings of guilt for suffering setbacks. All journeys encounter a few bumps in the road. That doesn't mean you turn back!

Here I present a natural weight loss healthy diet program, which also shows you how to keep that weight off. In addition, I give you the real reasons to exercise, not only during a weight loss program, but as a way of life.

Why is it that so many people (are you one of them?) show extraordinary courage and dedication over some weeks or months in order to achieve their target weight, and then, in no time it seems, they gain it all back, and sometimes a bit more?

Would you be interested in finding out the answer to that question, and a way that you can avoid that up-and-down weight cycling? If so, read on, because it can be done! I've done it, and so can you!

Here is a graph showing the progress of one young woman. In her late twenties, after a couple of pregnancies, plus using food as an emotional crutch (sound familiar?), she decided to try our program. She started out at about 175 lb, which was too much for her height; she is 5 feet 6 inches tall. This corresponds to a Body-Mass Index (BMI) of 28.3, which put her in the range between overweight (BMI = 25) and obese (BMI = 30). After a little over seven months (this is not a quick loss program!!! But it is permanent!), she became a very trim 135 pounds. This corresponds to a very healthy BMI of 21.8. These results were obtained a little over year ago, and she tells me that she still maintains her weight at about 135 pounds, which fluctuates only about two pounds either way. She has learned well the approach we use in this program, including understanding plateaus, and she will never have a weight problem again. Let me first introduce myself. I'm Dr. John McDonough. My training is in Chemistry. I received my Ph.D. fromDr. John McDonough the University of Chicago. I am 73 years old, and have had my share of health and weight problems over the years, with all the usual diet difficulties. Finally, I decided that I really had to do something about my problem, and determined to study nutrition at Florida International University. As a result of those studies, and my decision, I have been free of those concerns for years now.

Here is my story. About twenty years ago, I was going through a number of simultaneous stresses. And we all know one of the most common responses to stress - eating. I was in the process of divorce, had just started working for a new employer in a brand new part of the country, with which I was completely unfamiliar and where I knew no one. I had to find my first apartment (I had always owned a house), buy all the furnishings, etc. etc. All these things took their toll, and I was always eating in restaurants. You can guess what happened! I ballooned up to 209 lb. Since I am not very tall (5'10"), you can imagine how I looked, and the state of my health and my lack of fitness. By using the techniques in this natural weight loss healthy diet program, I was able to get down to my target weight of 163 lb, and have been successfully able to keep that weight off for years. My reason for choosing 163 lb was simply that that was my fighting weight when I was active in the martial arts during my 20's, about a half century ago.

You, too, can lose that excess weight, and keep that weight off, with this healthy weight loss program.

Imagine the thrill you'll feel when you can get into the same size you wore when you were in your twenties! And how much healthier, more fit and more energetic you'll be.

Here are some of the things you can learn by reading this website:

Life is full of choices. Attached to these choices are outcomes. In this natural weight loss healthy diet program, you are completely in control of the situation, both with respect to both the choices and the outcomes. Yes, much of our health (but certainly not all!) is of our own making. Obviously, the same is true for fitness.

You may obtain a free report on any one (just one, please) of the following topics:

1. All about Fat

2. High Fructose Corn Syrup

3. Discussion of Trans Fats

4. Omega-3 and Omega-6 Acids

5. Hormones and Excess Weight

This is not a quick weight loss program, rather it is intended for people who have decided to re-design their lifestyles to achieve a healthier state. In the process, they learn to re-design their bodies as well. If they also become more attractive, that's wonderful, but that's only a by-product of this natural weight loss healthy diet program. It is formulated to make Americans healthier by helping them to keep that weight off.

No foods are banned in our approach. The reasons diets fail is because people feel that they must put up with a certain amount of deprivation for some finite time in order to lose weight. After the weight is lost, and the time of deprivation has ended, they go back to their old choices, and obtain the old outcomes. In our healthy weight loss program, there is no deprivation period. You are simply made aware of the choices that you have made, and immediately shown the outcomes that those choices produce. After that, it is not difficult to keep that weight off.

We have plenty of suggestions and guidelines, but you are always the one in charge of your own natural weight loss healthy diet program, which helps improve your general health and fitness as well. This program teaches you how to make good choices, including reasons to exercise, if you really want to lose weight, keep that weight off, improve your health as well as your level of fitness. There is no place for shame or self-chastisement in this program for when you occasionally slip, which most of us do from time to time. Each day is a new beginning. My lifelong philosophy has always been that you are never defeated until you give up. As long as you never give up, you are succeeding.

Disclaimer: Since my doctorate is in Chemistry, not medicine, I want it clearly understood that nothing I say should be construed by anyone as a diagnosis, treatment, cure, prevention or medical advice regarding any medical matter. For all such topics, I urge you to consult with your healthcare professional. Our objective here is to present information and references for the intelligent layman to learn about various aspects of this very pervasive problem that affects so many of us Americans today.
